Is interior design hard? If you have any interest in decorating or design, interior design is not hard. However, even if you don’t know what interior design is or have never tried decorating, designing or creating things, interior design is still not hard and can be easily learned.
Like in any industry, developing an interest is the key in learning anything and be good at it. Once you have developed an interest or even a passion for interior design, interior design is not hard to learn and can become fun and exciting. Before actually practicing interior design on real projects, unlike interior decorating, you will have to acquire some training in interior design. The training for interior design is not hard comparing to other professions or skills such as Engineering, math or science etc. However, learning interior design can be harder then learning interior decorating as interior design will require more in-depth training as the work is more diversified making it slightly harder and usually will take abit longer to learn.
Learning interior design will consist of primary training in design, drawing and sketching, space planning, furniture design, graphics, project coordination and management, materials and finishes, drafting and professional practice and etc. Learning theses skills are not hard, it will just take some time, practice and patience. The training in design, drawing, space planning, furniture and graphics and materials and finishes will be the most easiest and not hard but fun. The project management, drafting and business practice etc can get abit boring and therefore may ended up feeling harder to learn.
Interior Design is not as hard as you may think. Interior design is actually fun and enjoyable to learn and practice. Everyday and every project, you are learning and creating something new.
During the learning process, design skills will be one of the core subject to be learned and an important one as well. For beginning interior design students, learning the design skills can be hard in the beginning but once you have understand the design process & the techniques of design and its applications, it will become easy and fun and interior design will not be hard. Again unlike many other professions, designing can be very satisfying as you are creating something new.
Is interior design hard? Well, the hardest part about interior design is really finding the problems and solving it efficiently and creatively while meeting the goals and objectives of the project. Once you have learned the techniques and steps in how to look for problems in an interior design project, it will be much easier. Finding the problems in interior design is unlike trying to find problems in math or in science, it is much easier and even enjoyable. Like everything else, problem solving skill is required in any profession but is much easier in interior design once you have learned the design process of interior design.
Nevertheless, slowly as you progress through your interior design training, interior design will become more easier and enjoyable and most people will develop a passion for it. Once you developed a passion for interior design, interior design will not be hard at all.
Is Interior Design Hard – Practicing Interior Design
Now, that was the learning phase. What about working as an Interior Designer in the real world on real projects? Is interior design hard practicing in the real world with real clients, contractors, a budget, a timeline etc? Well, its not hard if you know what you are doing and to know what you are doing is not hard either. Most of the time, after a few real world projects, everything should become easier. For each project you worked on, you will build more confidence and more experiences. So, it is important to learn as much as you can while working on real world projects.
Inorder to make practicing interior design easier and less hard, it is important while you are as a student in training, learn as much as you can about interior design. Most important of all, ensure your training include hands-on practical training with real world interior design projects. This type of training can provide you real world knowledge and skills so you are more ready for the real world.
